  • Board members spend up to 4 hours per month on duties outside of regular meetings and to review reports and board materials in advance of meetings.

Compensation: $25/hr, 20-25 hours/week, January 26-April 30, up to 250 hours per position for the duration of the project.

About Front Step Community Land Trust :

Front Step CLT is a community-based nonprofit organization that builds community power, thriving neighborhoods, and affordable homes. We are Missoula’s community land trust. We use this tool as well as housing co-ops and deed restrictions to make permanently affordable homeownership attainable for all. We push for equitable city and statewide land use policy that mends the rifts created by historic disinvestment, exclusionary zoning, and systemic barriers to housing access. Our community organizing supports working class neighbors.

Through community-driven development, we prioritize the needs of low- and moderate-income residents, ensuring that land, homes, and other community assets remain a shared resource for future generations. Our work fosters long-term housing stability, prevents displacement, and strengthens the social fabric of Missoula by empowering residents to shape the future of their neighborhoods.

As part of our work to promote housing stability, Front Step is leading a project called Renting in Missoula: A Snapshot Survey. Through this project, Front Step will collect and share neighborhood-level housing data that directly informs anti-displacement policies, tenant protections, and cooperative housing expansion in Missoula’s Invest Health neighborhoods (Franklin to the Fort, Northside, Westside, and River Road).

Canvassing Leads are expected to work regular weekends and weeknights. They will work together with the Community Engagement Specialist to ensure project tasks are completed on the project timeline.
